Exhibition in Paris at Humatheque
My exhibition in Paris (part of a group show) continues at the Campus Condorcet, Humatheque centre till the 20th of October. Open for the public. Do visit if in the city.
This relates to the first in a series of exhibitions on my work on the Rock Art of Ladakh - a project spanning more than a decade and 18 visits to the region.
A lot of what I have photographed has also sadly been destroyed making this documentation an invaluable resource for future generations interested in our shared ancient heritage. The work focuses on the eras prior to the advent to script and organised religion as we know it. At times spanning several thousand years back into a past we may never really know much about. Except that humans did inhabit this high altitude desert in ages past and these imprints are all that is left of their legacy. The solo exhibition is slated for 2024 at the Media Rostand gallery dedicated to Photography will also co-incide with the release of the French edition of my book on the subject. A first of its kind photo documentation on the subject done in such high resolution and putting unique photography techniques to the test in Ladakh's harsh desertic terrain.
